Bahamas - Nassau

Regional Travel Advice
- The Bahamas is subject to hurricanes, with the official hurricane season lasting from June to November. Hurricanes can cause flooding and travellers are advised to check if any weather advisories and/or travel warnings are in place prior to travel. - Criminal incidents are mainly confined to the main islands of New Providence and Grand Bahama. A recent swell in crime, particular in Nassau, has seen a number of tourists become victims of robbery – both petty theft and armed muggings. - The Bahamas possesses a laid-back atmosphere, but be mindful of respecting local customs and laws to avoid offending locals. Swimwear and skimpy attire should be restricted to the beach only.
